Common Bentley Air Suspension Problems

1. Leaking Air Springs or Air Struts

Flexible rubber air springs can deteriorate with age, repeated movement and exposure to road debris. Leaks may also develop around a strut seal, air connection, pressure-retention valve or other sealing point.

A valve-block problem can look similar to a leaking air spring. Diagnosis should therefore include parked-height measurements, fault codes and proper pneumatic testing instead of replacing the valve block based on the vehicle’s position alone.

5. Ride-Height Sensor or Linkage Fault

Ride-height sensors report the suspension position to the control system. A damaged sensor, disconnected linkage, wiring fault or incorrect calibration can make the car sit too high, too low or unevenly even when the pneumatic components can hold pressure.

6. Reservoir or Air-Supply Leak

The air reservoir stores compressed air so the system can make height adjustments efficiently. A leak at the reservoir, its connection or the air-supply unit may affect more than one corner and cause the compressor to operate frequently.

How to Diagnose Bentley Air Suspension Problems

1. Record the Vehicle’s Ride Height

Park the Bentley on a firm, level surface with the tires correctly inflated. Compare all four corners and note whether one corner, one axle or the entire vehicle is low.
